They approach every project, whether it be residential or commercial, with a distinct awareness of the spatial rhythm. Our unique approach integrates international influences with California living, a visual and experiential concept at the heart and soul of every project on the West Coast and beyond. They value a lasting impact over a trend, their style combines modern lines with earthy textures and old objects from many eras, creating a layered appearance that is rich in texture and influence but still entirely livable.
The lines between an office, a home, and an art gallery are blurred at this townhouse, which is situated on Venice Beach’s renowned Abbot Kinney. The lower two floors of this former investment banker-turned-lofted philanthropist’s workplace were completely renovated by Alexander Design. His amazing art collection inspired the warm and edgy spirit of this modern workstation.
Grayfox served as Vanessa Alexander and her energetic family’s private abode because it was well situated between mountains and the beach. In order to build a one-of-a-kind home, Vanessa drew inspiration from an actual, functioning Tuscan farm and combined it with elements from Bali and California. This large home was transformed into an oasis by earthy Italian colors combined with airy modernism, and it is now surrounded by beautiful gardens and furnished with cozy, unpretentious materials.
In Malibu, Vanessa Alexander resides in Bonsall. This renovation took the mid-century home down to the studs and included the addition of a new kitchen/family room, pool, and all landscape and hardscape design. The result was a contemporary interpretation of a Belgian farmhouse that feels both elegant and elevated but also appropriate for the laid-back Malibu lifestyle.
This house was initially created by the Mexican Modernist architect Ricardo Legorreta, but Alexander Design turned it into a contemporary haven for its residents. This 8,000 square-foot home, which had a complete makeover that preserved the existing building while transforming it into a hideaway where indoor and outdoor life feels harmoniously integrated, is lined with the client’s extensive collection of contemporary art.
This once-dark beachfront mansion was given new life by Alexander Design, who turned it into an ethereal, open refuge filled with understated splendor, soulful materials, and contemporary furnishings that create a layered and comforting haven. It serves as a getaway, perched along the coast of Malibu, and embodies relaxed elegance that is both inspiring and completely livable.
With a thorough design that starts the moment you enter the property, Alexander Design not only aims to create amazing rooms but also an experience that is highly individualized to each of its clients.
They are heavily influenced by context and surroundings, and they think that a good project results from the harmonic interaction of architecture, design, and landscape.
The elite lawyers and agents of Hollywood, as well as celebrity chefs and wealthy bankers, are among Alexander Design’s clients. Among the projects in the hospitality industry is the well-known Malibu Farms restaurant chain, which has new locations opening in New York City and Tokyo.
