Richard Mishaan started his career by apprenticing in the offices of Philip Johnson after receiving a Bachelors Degree from the New York University and attending Columbia University School of Architecture.

When presented with the opportunity to design furniture for Donghia, Richard Mishaan began his new path in designing furniture, lighting, textiles, and accessories for some of the world’s best firms.

Richard Mishaan believes the best interiors are layered and rich, he cherishes creating synergy between collected items whose common thread is a tonality, a texture, or simply the excitement they evoke in the client who chooses them.

Richard Mishaan has a combined knowledge of fashion, architecture, and interior design which mixed with his cultural roots, provide him with a deep understanding of luxury and quality.

Richard Mishaan has two authored books – Modern Luxury and Artfully Modern – both published by Monacelli Press, a Random House division.
